About your appointment
You are welcome to bring a friend, spouse, partner, or parent with you. You will be given a cloth gown to wear for the exam. Some patients like to bring or wear warm socks. Heavy vaginal bleeding or a severe vaginal infection will prevent us from obtaining an adequate PAP smear. If this occurs, you may need to reschedule that portion of the exam.

We accept the insurance providers listed here. Co-pays are due at the time of service. For our patients who have an 80/20 plan or with a high deductible, we request payment in full at the time of service until the deductible is met. Payments can be made with cash, check, Visa, and Mastercard.

Please limit after-hour calls to urgent and emergency needs.
If you have a life-threatening emergency, call 911. If you have an urgent medical situation call 919-470-4000 to reach the hospital operator to find out how to contact the doctor on call immediately, who will return your call as soon as possible.
Try to call with routine questions during our regular office hours. Our office number is 919-471-2273. When calling with a problem or question, describe the situation in detail to our staff. This will help the physicians determine the nature of the problem and respond quickly and accurately to your request.

Scheduling an Appointment
When scheduling an appointment, please describe your needs to our staff so that an appropriate length of time can be reserved for you. We attempt to schedule appointments to accommodate our patients’ needs. We also make every effort to see patients at scheduled appointment times since we realize that your time is valuable. If it appears that your appointment will be delayed significantly, our staff may choose to notify you by telephone so that you can choose to either keep your appointment time or reschedule it.
Appointment NO-SHOW Policy
There will be a $40.00 charge for all NO-SHOW and missed appointments. You are required to give a 24-hour notice for all appointment cancellations. Insurance companies do not cover NO-SHOW or missed appointment fees, so this will be billed to the patient. You will be unable to reschedule your appointment until the NO-SHOW charge is paid in full.
Fees and Payments
Our fees are based on the usual and customary professional fees for obstetrics and gynecology in the Triangle area. For services not covered by insurance, we accept cash, personal checks, VISA and MasterCard. For other payment arrangements, please see our office manager prior to your appointment.
Our office is committed to helping you maximize your insurance benefits. Because insurance policies vary, we can only estimate your coverage in good faith but cannot guarantee coverage due to the complexities of insurance contracts. Our competent office staff will handle as many of your insurance questions and needs as possible.
We do participate with most health insurance plans. Please contact your insurance company to find out if our physicians participate with your plan. In order for us to determine benefits, please have your insurance card available when calling to schedule your appointment. This will help us verify your benefits before your visit and reduce your wait time during the check-in process. Although we have verified your insurance, you must still bring your insurance card and driver’s license with you. These documents will be used to verify your identity. We do this to protect you and your family from insurance and identity fraud.
We require payment be made at the time services are rendered. We accept cash, credit cards, and checks. If we are contracted providers with your insurance company and are able to verify and confirm coverage, you will only be responsible for your co-pay, co-insurance and deductible at the time of your visit.
Please note: Verification of coverage is not a guarantee of coverage or payment by your insurance company. You will be considered responsible for all visits and procedures not covered by your insurance. It is in your best interest to fully read and understand all aspects of your health insurance coverage. Contact your insurance provider or benefits office if you have any questions about the specifics of your insurance coverage.
Our offices and telephones are open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Appointments are scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Please call 919-471-2273 for information and appointments.
Your medical information is strictly confidential. We will not release your medical information to anyone without your written consent. A family member may, however, accompany you to your appointments if you wish. If you want a copy of your records sent to another physician, we will require a written authorization from you.
Request for Meds/Refills
Please try to request new prescriptions or refills at appointments when possible. Keep in mind that many pharmacies do not routinely carry all prescription drugs. Therefore, please try to call for a refill a few days prior to taking your last dose, to give the pharmacy a chance to order your drug. Also, please have your pharmacy’s phone number available. We discourage prescribing new medications over the telephone, since an accurate diagnosis is usually possible only with an office visit.
